Finegreen are recruiting on behalf of a leading, worldwide non-profit organisation to recruit an Infection Prevention and Control Lead Nurse based in their London Office.

My client is a marketing focused, results oriented social enterprise they develop efficient, effective and sustainable family planning programmes in the UK and overseas. The UK division provides services to men and women over 130,000 times a year. Services provided include Termination of Pregnancy (TOP), STI testing, LARC provision, counselling and vasectomy. The primary responsibility of this role is to further client’s goal: the prevention of unwanted births and its mission of ensuring the individual’s right to having children by choice and not chance.

Please note this role involves an element of national travel to clinics across the UK. Flexible working arrangements will be considered for this role which involves working from home and regular meetings in London.

 

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will report to the Chief Nurse, the main purpose of this role is to provide strategic leadership and education in the delivery of infection prevention and control agenda across all clinical sites and develop and nurture a thriving link nurse body to support the effective IPC practice throughout the organisation.

The IPC lead will pay a key role in advising centres and their teams on appropriate and effective risk management strategies for infection prevention and control. The post-holder will be responsible and accountable for ensuring effective leadership, quality improvement and proactive resource management in all aspects of infection, prevention and control. 

You will be experienced, motivated and independently minded the IPC Lead Nurse will be confident in acting on their own initiative ensuring systems and processes are in place to comply with relevant legislation and governance requirements.

 

The successful candidate:

Current registration as a Registered Nurse or Midwife;

  • Experience at senior nursing level with responsibility for successful delivery of the IPC agenda;
  • Experience working within the private sector is highly desirable;
  • Demonstrate competent project management skills;
  • Pro-choice on abortion.
