Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust is a national and international specialist heart and lung centre based in Chelsea, London and Harefield, Middlesex. As a specialist Trust they only provide treatment for people with heart and lung disease. This means their doctors, nurses and other healthcare staff are experts in their chosen fields, and many move to their hospitals from throughout the UK, Continental Europe and beyond, so they can develop their particular skills even further.

They carry out some of the most complicated surgery, and offer some of the most sophisticated treatments available anywhere in the world. Consequently, their patients come from all over the UK and internationally, and not just from local areas. They help patients of all ages who have heart and lung problems and their care extends from the womb, through childhood, adolescence and into adulthood. During 2016/17 they cared for over 200,000 patients at their out-patient clinics and over 39,000 patients of all ages on their wards.

They are now seeking to appoint a key member of their Estates and Facilities team. The Estates and Capital Projects Manager is the Trusts senior Estates technical officer and will lead the Estates operational and maintenance services for the Trust ensuring that the buildings, engineering systems and grounds are safe, well maintained, fit for purpose, available for their intended use, within budget and improve the patient’s experience.

The role will work across the whole Trust estate portfolio to support the business strategy. They will be responsible for the continuing professional development and overall performance of all staff in Estates & Capital Projects.
