Finegreen are supporting Totally Plc with an excellent job opportunity for a Business Development Manager. Totally Plc specialise in delivering out-of-hospital care and providing a range of innovative services. It is a fast growing organisation and they offer career progression in a company which makes a genuine difference.

Totally Plc promote health and wellbeing services by driving innovation and providing a range of responsive and preventative healthcare services in community settings, GP surgeries, prisons, workplaces and patients’ homes, from pre-diagnosis to discharge.  

Their aim is to increase its turnover threefold over the next 2 years. The Business Development role is to support the Director of Business Development in identifying new business across existing and new clientele, and to take the lead in developing those opportunities to deliver business growth. 

It is expected that the post-holder will be able to work independently within their area of responsibility, developing excellent relationships with stakeholders internally and externally and delivering growth within the framework of the highest clinical, customer service and business standards.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop relationships externally with commissioners of CCG’s / CSU’s / STP’s and key influencers, such as GP Federations, GPs, acute and community providers to understand market requirements and to increase subsidiaries revenue in line with targets;
  • Develop and manage relationships with existing clients across IUC, MSK, Dermatology, Telehealth and Prison health with commissioners on behalf of all Subsidiaries, and to develop new business opportunities to grow the volume and revenue across their business;
  • Seek new commercial opportunities with new and existing partners, developing innovative services, business models and ways of working to secure additional income streams. 
  • Take primary responsibility on behalf of Subsidiaries for the development of sales and marketing plans relating to service developments;
  • Develop a network of external stakeholders, including but not limited to GP’s, GP Federation staff, CCG Commissioners, hospital providers and care companies, who are influential in determining where patients access IUC, MSK, Dermatology, and Prison Healthcare;
  • Through relationships and effective networking, maintain an understanding of strategic direction and service changes in commissioning and the wider NHS, with a view to identifying opportunities and risks for Subsidiaries; 
  • Prospect for and evaluate service ideas arising from the group of companies within Totally Plc.

The post-holder will have excellent communication and negotiation skills with experience of business development, ideally within the health and care market.


The Successful Candidate will ideally have;

  • Demonstrable sales results;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to build strong and credible relationships at a senior level across all operational and financial disciplines;
  • The ability to perform effectively under pressure with excellent personal organisation and time management;
  • Self-motivation and resilience, with the ability to persevere in order to achieve objectives;
  • Broad knowledge of utilising information technology to provide management information reports, particularly financial and activity reporting;
  • Experience at dealing with very senior people both internally and externally;
  • Experience of managing a customer focused services across clients;
  • Experience of procurement processes in a business management or development capacity;
  • A successful record of achievement in business development within the health and care sector.
