I am recruiting for an interim Clinical Effectiveness Project Manager to undertake two specific projects and support the Trust’s governance arrangements in relation to their participation in the regional 7 day service local network and the Group Mortality Steering Group committee.

The assignment shall start at the beginning of June with an estimated end date of October 2018, working 30 hours per week and located in London.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Lead on behalf of the corporate governance team the management of aligning the New Interventional Procedure (NIP’s) process and registry to ensure the effective management of NIP’s, ensuring effective systems are in place to capture and monitor report achievement of agreed procedures and support the development of evidence to demonstrate achievement through: 
  • Quarterly status reporting of NIPS’s that are known across the Trust; 
  • Collation and analysis quarterly of the NIP’s registry including identification of governance or clinical risk in relation to intention to implement;. 
  • Draft report for bi- annual NIP’s reporting processes at Group in collaboration with AMD for presentation to CSIC; 
  • Review the trust’s NIP’s implementation policy in partnership with the head of clinical performance and the AMD for clinical performance, establishing clear reporting and monitoring arrangements in line with the new Group model and CPG’s alignment; 
  • Monitor the progress and outcome of the hospital site NICE gap analysis and implementation plans reporting monthly to the trust NICE compliance scorecard. 
  • Maintaining the central NICE database of compliance ,clinical audit and NICE related quality improvement projects throughout the Trust and prepare and/or provide reports to members of the Trust and outside organisations such as the Care Quality Commission, local commissioners or NHSE on the numbers, range, outcome, recommendations from NICE; 
  • Provide reports and analysis on all aspects of NICE compliance and implementation activity across the Trust as required for submission to Trust committees and outside agencies  
  • Review the trust’s NICE implementation policy in partnership with the head of clinical performance and the AMD for clinical performance, establishing clear reporting and monitoring arrangements in line with the new Group model and CPG’s alignment. 
  • Participate in and attend corporate and divisional meetings to ensure all staff understands the role of clinical audit in driving quality improvements for safe effective clinical care. 
  • Inform and support the work of the Trust’s Clinical Standards and Innovation Committee undertaking specific clinical effectiveness projects as required. 
  • Be responsible for preparing the agenda and papers for the Group Mortality Steering Group, which reports to the Clinical Standards and Innovation Committee. 
  • Develop the agenda and papers for the Trust’s contribution to the regional 7 day  service local network as required or directed by the Deputy Director Clinical Governance and Performance or Head of clinical governance and performance.  
  • Work with site and divisional leads for clinical governance to ensure the development of robust governance systems that comply with the delivery of the Integrated Governance and the Care Quality Commission’s quality standards. 
  • Support the corporate head of clinical governance and performance as required in relation to NICE, NIPS’s, NCEPOD and NCA’s 
  • Support the Deputy Director Clinical Governance and Performance as required in the development of the Group clinical effectiveness trust 2018/19 priorities. 

The successful candidate:

  • Strong NHS experience of clinical governance and clinical audit; 
  • Ability to advise staff and/or public on clinical audit and clinical effectiveness in relation to supporting good standards within healthcare; 
  • Demonstrable understanding of clinical governance and its relevance to improving healthcare in the NHS; 
  • Ability to produce analytic reports relating to clinical audit and effectiveness/quality standards for improvements/change required; 
  • Project management and quality improvement experience in relation to clinical governance, clinical audit or clinical risk with an NHS organisation; 
  • Knowledge of Care Quality Commission national priorities for clinical audit, NICE and management of best practice standards; 
  • Update to knowledge and understanding of the levers for driving change and improvement from a national and regional perspective within the NHS quality agenda.
