West Midlands Ambulance Service University NHS Foundation Trust (WMAS) is a £300m NHS Foundation Trust providing emergency and urgent services across the West Midlands region to a population of c5.6m people. As we embark on the process to appoint a Chair, we would like to pay tribute to our current Chair, Sir Graham Meldrum and the outstanding leadership he has provided to out Trust over many years. In selecting Sir Graham’s successor, we want to engage with high calibre senior leaders with the charisma and gravitas to engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including national and system leaders, Board colleagues, frontline staff and service users.
As a suitable candidate, you will bring an impressive track record of success, operating at senior / Board level within large, complex and high performing organisations. You will have the ability to provide leadership,independent and objective challenge to our Board and demonstrate a commitment to, and personal interest in, enhancing health and care services. You will also be able to evidence a clear understanding of, and alignment to our values and the highest standards of personal integrity.
