Job Description
Finegreen are currently assisting with the appointment of a senior level Occupational Health (OH) and Wellbeing professional, who will have previous experience within NHS organisations at Head of level to undertake a service review of the current OH/Wellbeing provision both internally and from a contract /income generating external client basis.
You will have worked within a managerial post within healthcare, ideally undertook service improvement/change projects with positive outcomes to both staffing within departments and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and develop the Occupational Health Department ensuring delivery of a high quality service ensuring effective use of resources and adherence to internal and external service level agreements;
Ensure that the Trust follows, develops and maintains legislation, guidance, policy and the required external and internal quality standards for the Occupational Health Service;
Identify opportunities for new business, producing tender documentation and ensuring the service operates on a commercial basis;
Lead on the development of Occupational Health clinical policies, clinical guidelines, standard operating procedures and service and nursing standards that follow evidence based practice, national guidelines and current legislation;
Ensure that clinical standards are recognised, updated, implemented and monitored and that clinical governance in the department is robust, recorded, monitored and audited;
Ensure management information is provided both internally and externally on the Occupational Health Service, including feedback on service provision to enable improvements/adjustments to the service;
SME in occupational health advising on all aspects of occupational health and wellbeing;
Communicate on complex, sensitive and routine issues at all levels of the organisations on a daily basis, both internally and externally for which the Occupational Health department provides a service;
Develop positive working relationships with external stakeholders and business clients;
Person Specification:
Registered General Nurse/Specialist Occupational Health Practitioner (SCPHN or equivalent);
An understanding of current Occupational Health issues within the NHS;
Excellent communication skills, with an ability to undertake service improvement/change management projects;
Knowledge of business contracts and service level agreements.
Experience of developing and implementing new policies.
