Job Description
We are working with an NHS organisation who are seeking to appoint an Interim Project Lead for a minimum of 12 months with an expectation of extension upto an additional 12 months.
Key responsibilities will include:
Developing and delivering the operational programme to support the transition of specific services to the new site;
Lead on all aspects of operational delivery for delivery of the programme;
Lead on reporting against the programme plan using programme management methodology;
Working across all staff groups (clinical, operational, estates & facilities, HR, finance etc) to support the transition to the new site;
Knowing and understanding the overall priorities of the programme;
Assisting the Programme Director, Senior Responsible Officer, Divisional Triumvirate and other key stakeholders in managing a safe and timely transition;
Representing and making decisions on behalf of the programme at the appropriate level as delegated by the Programme Director;
Representing the programme at internal and external meetings as required;
To be responsible for the development and delivery of the operational programme to ensure effective preparation and transfer of services to the new hospital including workforce preparation and training, familiarisation for staff and service users, strategy for equipment procurement and provision, development and implementation of operational policies and procedures;
The postholder will be required to provide leadership, engagement and support to clinical and support services to ensure delivery of cultural, technological and organisational change. The post holder will need to work in partnership with clinical leads and clinical staff at all times throughout the programme;
Work with the Programme Team to update staff and provide single point of contact to design, develop and obtain approval to final elements of the project for example, room layouts for wards, outpatient and other areas within the new and existing buildings.
The ideal candidate will have:
Extensive knowledge and expertise across a range of clinical and managerial service areas within the broad spectrum of health and social care;
Programme / project management experience of large scale projects;
Management Qualification;
Prince2 Practitioner;
Demonstrable management experience at senior level, within a health or social care setting with full responsibility for staff and budget management;
Demonstration of implementing a new service or substantial service re-configuration;
Previous involvement in major capital projects involving new or changing service;
Successful track record of implementing organisational and service change, clinical and non-clinical;
Experience of delivering organisational change management programmes through a structured project management framework;
Experience of development of formal Business Cases and Tenders to support service development.
